About the Cultural Center

The Banjara Sanskriti Samvardhan Kendra (Banjara Cultural Development Center) was established on 1st July 2023 at Vasantrao Naik Mahavidyalaya, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra. The center is dedicated to the preservation, promotion, and development of the rich cultural heritage of the Banjara (Lambada) community.

Named after the visionary leader Vasantrao Naik, who himself belonged to the Banjara community and served as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, this center aims to be a beacon of cultural preservation and community empowerment.

Cultural Documentation

Document and archive Banjara traditions, oral histories, folk tales, songs, and rituals for future generations.

Language Preservation

Promote and preserve the Lambadi/Gor Boli language through workshops, literature, and digital resources.

Cultural Events

Organize festivals, exhibitions, seminars, and workshops to celebrate and showcase Banjara culture.

Education & Research

Support academic research on Banjara history, culture, and socio-economic development.

Community Building

Create a digital platform for Banjara community members to connect, share, and collaborate.

Art Promotion

Promote Banjara embroidery, dance, music, and other art forms through exhibitions and training programs.
